I was born and raised very close to our school in the little country town that Auburn once was. After graduating from Placer High School, I married my best friend, Jim Everhart. While raising our three children, I attended California State University in Sacramento, earning my B.A. in Child Development and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential in 2001.
I was lucky enough to be hired to teach second grade here at Bowman in 2002. I went on to teach combined classes of third and fourth, and then fourth-fifth for a few years before construction of the middle school building and Charter School status allowed for expanded enrollment. I then taught fifth grade for five years and made the choice to come back to teaching third graders six years ago, and I am so glad I did, because children this age are a joy to spend time with!
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and travelling.
